House

Just look at how the people are dwarfed by the sheer size of
PETWORTH HOUSE (Above) |
This vast late 17th-century mansion is set in a beautiful 700-acre deer park, landscaped by 'Capability' Brown and immortalised in Turner's paintings. |
The estate continues to be managed as a deer park but there is also a flower garden with a Doric temple and an Ionic rotunda. |
Inside, the house contains the National Trust's finest collection of pictures, with numerous works by J.M.W. Turner, Van Dyck, Reynolds and Blake |

Private Visit To Chartwell
THE HOUSE |
We will begin with a self guided visit around the house which takes 45minutes to an hour.
There are lots of volunteers to answer any questions. |
The rooms remain much as they were when Sir Winston Churchill lived there, with pictures, books and personal mementos evoking the career and wide-ranging interests of this great statesman, writer, painter and family man. |

THE HILLSIDE GARDENS |
The gardens reflect Sir Winston’s love of the landscape and nature.
They include the lakes he created, the rose & kitchen garden and the Marycot (a playhouse designed for his youngest daughter Mary).

THE STUDIO |
We will see an array of Churchill’s
paintings in the studio. |
